Years ago, I sold my 1985 Corvette to my brother. Recently he has been having a starting problem. He noticed a switch installed into the factory wiring harness that I installed in 1992 and wonders what it is for. I do not remember. The Ecklers invoice lists it as item # 26146, Tool, EST switch. He called Ecklers, but they could not find any information on it.
Does anyone know what this switch does? I will also post in the technical section. Thanks, Norm
Here is a copy/paste of the response I put up yesterday to the same question in Technical. There have been no responses in that thread, so I'll duplicate it here in this one.
The hard start was caused by a defective oil pressure switch. My brother has the service manuals and was able to trace this down and repair it. The car now starts and runs great.
As far as the EST switch is concerned, I will be visiting my brother next week and will take some pictures.
