1993 corvette digital dash
i have a 1993 base corvette (my first corvette) and the dash upon start is erratic. shows it going 0mph, then jumps to 38, and just goes all over the place. the fuel gauge is erratic as well and so is all the other digital displays. any suggestions as to where i should start at? with this situation i also noticed the transmission is not shifting properly.

Some possible culprits are loose/corroded connector or solder joint failure in the panel. You could start by going to batee.com and reviewing some of their videos on troubleshooting and repair of the instrument panel. He will sell you the parts for a DIY repair or you can pull the panel and send to him for repair. Either way Batee is a popular and reliable provider for forum members.

thanks everyone for the replies. I just put in a new battery as i had read some threads that low or old battery might be the culprit. i crossed my fingers hoping it was going to be that simple but when i turned on the car it did not change anything, bummer. Does anyone know where the ground wire for this would be as i have heard it could be a bad ground. my next step is to pull the dash out and send it to get repaired.
