Coolant temperature

Ok guys just installed new water pump, ac delete, egr delete, new radiator hoses new 180 thermostat and coolant flush. When I started my csr up for the first time the temp jumped straight to 299. I know my car isn't overheating the fan switch is new and so is the temp sensor on the front of the intake. Car runs and idles fine just wondering why it's reading temp so high. Could I have possibly gotten a bad temp sensor?

I know there's a way to display a digital temp reading on the center LCD. Does it show a maxed out value there as well?

The digital readout reads 299

I would suspect the sender, it's the only thing you changed that could do that. You could try the old one if you still have it.

I would hook up my scanner and see what the ECM is getting as coolant temp, probably the sensor.

I re-read that and you didn't say you changed the temp sensor but that you maybe 'got a bad sender.' Did you change the sender?
