Default Carpet help

Any body know of a video on replacing the carpet on the door sills on a 95 coupe and replacing the fabric for the front speaker covers. The carpet I bought is way bigger than the door sills and the kit doesnt come with the speaker fabric. Also the rubber outer edging is stapled and I have to remove them from what I can tell to glue the carpet on. How to staple the edging on afterwards. Video would be great.

Can't help much on the rest, but go get yourself a air stapler (assuming you have even a small compressor) at Home Depot that fires T50 staples. They are like 20 bucks. Get 1/4" staples to use and the job will be alot easier.

I actually just recovered my 95 sill covers and speakers covers this spring.
My carpet was way over sized also.
I used 3m spray 90 contact cement and a lot of hand held spring clamps.
I positioned the sill cover in the carpet where it fitted the best on the top front and sprayed carpet and sill with glue and clamped. It is best to do half of a sill at a time so the glue can dry and hold the carpet in place.
Once it is totally glued on you can trim the carpet to fit the frame. A extra pair of hands do not hurt at all.
For the speaker covers I removed the original coverings and replaced with black speakers cloth that I purchased from Jo Ann”s Fabric.
I used a hot glue gun to attach it on the inside of the frame.

I do still have my black original speakers coverings along with anther set if anyone is interested.

Spring clamps and extra hands are very nice.
Just a FYI use paint thinner to clean up your hands or anything else that has glue on that you do not.
Thanks Hawkeye56

Thanks for the replies, I'll try what had been suggested. I just can't justify $160 for two speaker covers ready to install. I know one thing I'll never do another carpet install again. I've still got to do the back carpet yet, or maybe the next owner will get the new carpet set at a discount. 😄

$160. For speakers covers?Who would ask that much. I have $18.00 in two yards plus $20 for a glue gun.

There's a couple corvette parts dealers that sell just the fabric for $60 and if you want the complete assembled covers with new nuts it's $160 plus shipping and tax. When you hold the original parts in your hand and look at them I just say no way.
