Default Help!!

Lost the keys to my 1995 Corvette. A locksmith made all 15 keys, and “thinks” number 6 was the key, but it still won’t start. The local Chevy dealer claims they don’t have the info in the computer.

Any ideas?

You need the VATS resister value.
1995 is decades ago why would they keep such info.

I purchased a TA near free. Solving/ firing it up drove away. Lol they had the key.. PO cut the VATs leads Sellers face was priceless.

Very seldom will the VATS 'information' be included with the KEY REQUEST but them telling you they 'can't/it ain't' IS NOT correct. If you provide proof of ownership, current personal identification they could get you at least the mechanical cut codes for your 1995. Will the VATS information be supplied to them? MAYBE !!

They would likely want to charge you for the service.

That price is astronomical. Tedious. Also for a reason.
Joe criminal could easily call with a VIN.
Thank you, for my new car.
Personally, i capture resistance of my keys and document.

It some times isn't! If you've a 'relationship' with the dealer often 'no charge'. I don't believe I've ever seen 'astronomical'. Reasonable depends on your circumstance?

Joe Criminal ain't got your personal ID, your registration, insurance card.

Record the info once you've got it certainly.

Default VATS Value

I somehow need to find out the VATS value so I know which key to use as I have all 15! Perhaps the little wire in the ignition has broken? If so, any way to test for that?

There is but your keys are just 'lost'?

And these keys all 'ROTATE' the ignition cylinder? You can't use the keys one after the other without a 'WAIT' before attempting the next. The wait time gets debated from time to time but 10 minutes should suffice. After successive attempts of a few it's sometimes mentioned that the CCM will actually refuse more. That count is also debated. You mentioned the lock smith thought #6?

This is mentioned most often for '90 - '96 when attempting VATS resistance:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you do a 'WALK IN' with ID, registration with a GM dealer?

I bought a 95 with no keys. This is what I had to do. Luckily I started with the odd numbered first, turned out 13 was it.
