Well this was pretty weird. Was making a normal turn in the neighborhood and all of a sudden the gas pedal was gone. Like nowhere to be found with my foot. I felt around on the floor, firewall everywhere, it was just plain gone. So I was just idling in 2nd gear the mile to my house, lucky I was headed there and have the day off. Got home and found the pedal behind the brake against the firewall. Luckily it didn't get behind the clutch.
Looks like the mount is made of thin super brittle plastic. So far my internet searches have only brought up entire pedal assemblies. Do I really have to buy the whole thing when all I need is the mount? Are the reproductions made with plastic too?

Not my best work but it hasn't failed yet.
I have a full pedal assembly laying around too. There were metal C4 pedal assemblies available at some point on the web. They come up from time to time.
Why junkyard? If mine failed from age vs it's low use, no abuse a junkyard one will fail shortly as well. Ordered a new one. Maybe I'll get 40 yrs out of it and then it's the kids problem
