Default Speaker covers

Speaker covers for my 95 arrived from aac and they were reproductions plastic pieces with new metal studs and nuts. Problem is they covered them with carpet, it matches the tru vette carpet perfectly but I'm wondering how it will affect the sound from the speakers. The original covers had a gray cloth. I haven't installed them yet but wondered if anyone has done this. I don't want to install them if the sound won't come through the carpet. I could have glued carpet to my old ones, I was hoping to have them done right. Might be returning them if no one chimes in.

I went to Jo Ann Fabric and purchased black speaker cloth. Installed on both front and rear.
You can purchase other colors on line, My interior is black so it did not matter.

Thanks Hawkeye56
