You can turn off EGR in the tune pretty easy. You can even do it yourself if you're willing to get familiar with TunerPro and Flashhack and get the cable to connect the laptop usb to the OBD1 port on the car. Basically you use Flashhack to copy the PCM data to the laptop. Then you load the data into TunerPro and adjust it. Finally, use Flashhack to burn the new data back on to the PCM. This way the PCM wont set a trouble code when you delete the EGR stuff.
If you don't want to do it yourself, you can sent the PCM out and have it done.

Just plug the hole in in the headers.

Engine won't care if the EGR is there or not, but the Code 32 will still set in the PCM. You would have to turn off the code in the tune.
