1990 and 1996 instrument cluster
My instrument cluster for my 90 vette has some issues with the tach and such. I had gone to a salvage yard and there is a 96 cluster in a car.
I have run into a bit of a conundrum.
I have seen that some say the clusters between the two are not physically interchangeable and some say they are.
Some I have found saying all you need to do is replace the "newer" LCD screen with the original screen and it will work.
There are a couple things off the car that I want to buy, but I want to be 100% sure I can swap the clusters before I pay for it and cant return it. And if I can, what is a reasonable price for said cluster, they don't have prices on any interior parts, they had recently acquired the car and I dont want to get ripped off.

Melting Slicks
I have a '96 cluster in my '90. You need to use a 90/91 LCD and add a couple jumpers to make the right warning lights show-up. If you can read a wiring diagram and handle a soldering iron, it's pretty easy. The same for the DIC and the '96 C68 works with no mods.

Update, I didn't end up getting the cluster, the guy was asking way too much for it and would not budge on pricing. Although I did get the targa top off the car which was awesome for 650
