I read the ad and it said both the part numbers, so I assumed the 652 was acceptable. Reading the application charts on ebay (sellers), I see the 652F is both recommended and NOT recommended. What actually makes a these canisters different internally?
How do I tell if the 652F, which I just put, is fine or needs to come off? Parts look and feel the same with one note difference... the original GF 481 that came off the car has a slight bend in the neck maybe to accommodate the angle of the fuel line run(?)
From what I am seeing, GF652 is the filter from ACD's "Professional" line and the GF481 is the regular. The GF652 is what is returned when simply searching via Google and Amazon. If your car is running right then you are fine.
Once ACD/GM Dealers exhaust stock on the GF481 (25055052) I imagine that the GF652 (25171792) will become the 'only' ACD/GM part # serviced. A GM # change also often indicates a change of the supplier.
THANKS so much. I'll keep it installed but I did my usual two steps forward, one step back.
Thinking I did the right thing, I put new green O rings on the lines. Did notice the originals were red and didn't let my brain wander after that. Little research and yes, they need to be fuel and pressure specific. Pulling filter tonight and installing correct O rings.
