I’ve narrowed my difficulties to the OBD II bracket. I am wondering if a previous owner messed with the bracket presuming the OBD II bracket secures to the metal crush panel.
Does the bracket secure to the metal crush panel? If yes, then shouldn’t the metal panel have a speed nut to receive a screw from the bracket?
It’s very peculiar for me. The bracket has threads to bind a screw. Meanwhile, the metal crush panel has nothing but a whole. I know I can remove the threads from the bracket and add a speed nut to the metal crush panel. However, is it OEM?
The PO did the same to me. I'll look at mine again. But from what I remember, I used an existing hole. I had to replace a few speed nuts/clamps that were missing, along with a few screws. As a matter of fact, I think I used this hole to attach the OBD2.
