Not my car but thought I'd toss it on here to see what all of you think? A lot of money but is this reasonable considering the miles? Love to hear your opinions.
It’s a nice car, black on black with a 6 speed. I think the 40th anniversary part is comical as every 1993 Corvette had 40th embroidered into the seats that had leather…. This isn’t a 40th anniversary car as they were all ruby. The price is what it is the cars got 6000 miles it’s worth whatever someone is willing to pay.
As time goes on, finding low-mileage showroom examples like this becomes harder and harder. The car looks absolutely perfect. With prices going up the last couple of years, this doesn't really seem out of line to me. As they say... "find another one!"
It is really sad on some level that cars like this were bought and never driven. So many great summer cruising days and fun trips that were never taken. Dan

Still, no matter what color it is , it 's 40'th anniversary car.
Even a 6000-mile car needs maintenance. The 30-year-old tires may need to be replaced. It is a 40th anniversary car by virtue of the year, but not a 40th anniversary edition commemorative car. All commemorative 40th anniversary cars are Ruby.
I read that all 93s had the 40th anniversary stitching in the seatback due to a communications error from GM to its supplier.

Comical?
Didn't make me laugh
It is a 40th anniversary car regardless & a beauty at that.
Sure splitting hairs but it did not state 40th anniversary edition.
Nice ride & it looks priced in the ballpark considering the mileage.

I think it is cheap. It's virtually impossible to find another low mile example that is well kept. Heck, it's getting hard to find them under 100k miles
About 5 years ago I caught just a little friendly needling here when I said how much I paid for my 96 base. I knew at the time I paid over market. At the time I was 67 years old and the car was at Viet's Vetts about 10 miles from my house. I did not have it in me to do a nationwide or even regional search. It did have 27,000 miles but was in showroom condition. It was kept by a man who always intended on getting it NCRS judged but never did. It even had the original tires. The previous owner apologized that one radiator hose clamp has been changed without his permission and did not have the 96 code on it. He claims the first time the car had ever seen rain was when it was loaded up to be shipped to Viet"s. In the last 15,000 miles I have not had to do anything except Maintenance. Yes, I paid $23,000 and it was way over market and I did not care. I paid and drove it home in 20 minutes. I hope someone buys this car and puts some new tires on it and drives the wee out of it just like it was 25 years ago. Dan

I think most of you will agree that C4 prices have really ramped up the last few years. That has it's up sides and down but it's where the market has taken them. I can recall a time when I could have bought a 65 C2 convertible that was an original 396 one year only big block 4 speed car in decent shape for $5000. This was in the late 70's. At the time I thought it was too much and passed.Boy, talk about regrets! So, in my mind price is relative and I don't see the C4 taking any drastic drops in value unless the whole economy takes a major dump and then all bets are off. I don't see any comments regarding this car as being pie in the sky priced.
As for what you paid for yours Dan, I would say you likely gave a premium for a premium car. Nothing wrong with that as you got what you wanted and didn't have to pay anyone to have it checked out in some remote location and didn't pay any shipping costs so I think you came out just fine. I don't hold great value on really low miles but many do and quick look at any of the auctions will verify that.
That being said, This is a really nice car and it may well be that it's priced reasonably. Be curious what it would bring on BAT?
Bucket List, I bought my dream car new, a 1984 VW GTI for $8k. I thought that was a lot of $ when I left college. I loved that car! Whaleman was true to himself. Love the car, buy the car. The feeling you get is what these cars are about. I really just like my c4's. I know I paid too much but have not given it a second thought.
I just hope Biden and his New World Order don't f-up my last 20 years. Politicians and public apathy will destroy our passion in a heartbeat.
Jerry, you think the tires. might need replaced??? LOL!!

That's really cool! I bought an 84 GTI new also. Great cars and a kick in the a$$ to drive. Never should have let that get away as they too are getting quite collectible.
One thing I will add RE: Biden-- He is a fellow Corvette owner so in my mind he's not all bad.

Reason: typo
Since you mentioned the VW, my friend had one of them with a stick. The factory installed an aluminum slug in the throttle body for emissions. He took throttle body off and beat out that slug with a socket. The car went from squealing the tire on a sharp turn to a tire melter. Lot of fun. As for the Vette, nice car but if he bought it as an investment in 93, not much of a return after 30 years.
It may sound funny to some but I know quite a few enthusiasts that get a great deal of pleasure just going out into the garage and just looking at that special car. I'm thinking that could well have been the case with this one. It's possible that the owner got to the point that he/she couldn't get in and out anymore but still loved to just go look at it and know they owned one of the nicest 93 C4's on the planet. I've got a close friend who bought a 2011 Shelby GT 500 brand new in 2010. He recently sold it last spring and it only had about the same miles on it as this car. The guy who bought the car got one of the nicest GT 500's in the northwest and it had never been abused. If I would have had the car I would have driven it a lot more than he did but to each their own. That's why the mileage on both of mine being in the 40K range is just kind of a sweet spot in my mind in that they aren't super low so I can drive them without worrying about running the miles up.
