Rear speakers not functioning correctly...
Hi all, Front speakers of the stereo system work fine... And the rear don't.. The right rear just hisses and don't respond to volume ..(stays at one volume). The left rear has sound but at a very low volume (half to put your ear against it)..Would the rear amps be at fault for this? Do I need to test them or is this a no brainer.. Speakers work just fine when tested..
Please ask questions so I can solve this issue.. I don't want to be throwing money around when I don't know..

If you are talking Bose then you are on the right track suspecting the amps on the speakers. They are a very common problem on Bose systems. They can be rebuilt by various companies or you can tackle them yourself if you are handy with working on electronics.

Replacing the capacitors in the amps will most likely fix your problem. If you are ok with using a soldering iron, it is a DIY project. Remove the amps, ID the capacitors by type and quantity, call Digi-Key. They will cross reference them and give you what you need. There are several good posts on the forum and some You-Tube videos that will give you plenty of guidance for the project. OR, you can send them to Car Stereo Help in Florida and have them rebuild for you.
