Default C4 Vats Bypass Help

I know this thread has been posted before, but I’m not sure if my Vats has already been altered. really need help!

This is what I see after removing panel, the orange and white wires were already disconnected, and this looks like the a male adapter hanging; the side that is leading up to the ignition if I’m not mistaken.

Where is the other end going to the ecu? Going to remove this plate now to get a better view. Any input is needed and appreciated. Thx

This is the situation, so the orange and white cord is the Vats control correct? Really need help it’s been 2 weeks of car sitting, purchased new battery but nothing. Security light is on so I believe it’s Vats but hoping it’s not starter.

Car lights illuminate, no crank no start. Security light on. Already measured resistance of key.

One thread where the year is mentioned in most cases should be sufficient. Multiple similar post tends to aggravate!

This one never mentioned THE YEAR

So I'm about to do this on my 93. If I have my info correct. from your picture: The orange sheathed wire with two whites is the ignition cylinder side of VATs and the other goes to the CCM. Bypass resisters will need to be soldered into CCM side. See my sniped picture of yours.

Many actually snip the whites in the sheath and use that to create a plug in 'solution'! If you know you have a working key and cylinder that's destroying a good part maybe. If you've a known bad key and cylinder then it's making good use of what you've got. I generally if replacing a key and cylinder will snip and save that connector for the future.

**** Note the PPL/WHT & WHT/BLK do NOT go to the PCM but the CCM

**** Do you have the FSM for your '93?

I do have a FSM yes. Just need time to dig into it and the car. My security light is solid when key is on, no crank, no nothing. And you are correct, CCM, I don't know why I thought PCM when I typed that. Thanks for the correction, I'll edit my post.

So if you've a known issue likely in the wires to the key cylinder in the sheath then it would make sense to snip the whites leaving a short length of each to attach the resistor and have a 'plug n play' fabrication.
