Getting ready to lift my C4 for the first time on my scissor lift. I poked around and many suggest using areas other than the the marked OEM section for the factory jack to place your pads, then I saw someone recommend these magnetic jack pinch weld rail adapters. Anyone else use these?
I always thought those rubber ones would get cut by the pinchweld and the others are aluminum and are much more solid and lower profile. But they look like they would fit the jackstands well.

I use the orange aluminum to jack each part, then slide a jackstand in with one of these one. They are rubber, bu seem pretty dense, some kind of hardener in them. And when the weight is distributed over four of them it's fine. Although I just started using these this year. But the aluminum, a definite, it's a great little piece.
I’ve looked at similar items over years but I don’t really have enough frame to lifting pad clearance, my lift is not recessed into the floor. As it is the ramps run the full length of the frame from front to back and the car is rock solid. My problem is overhead clearance, the Corvette is fine but anything else requires a close eye. Unboxing from the freight terminal Using my homemade overhead lift to get it out of the truck…yes the cable is grossly undersized. Should have used a Towmotor. Initial set up of the lifting mechanism minus control head., can’t see the tape markings I made on the floor to square the units & center them to the structure. Unpacking the control head First time in the air, if you’re thinking the mechanism looks heavy …you’re right. Plenty of overhead clearance at this point, sure makes washing and waxing heaps easier.,

What is the max clearance from floor to nottom of the vette?
Thanks
I have no idea, I know when I back onto it the frame rail is no more than a 16th from the pad. I can measure the lift height for you in the morning if you like….a dwarf with wore out knees can’t do much crawling on concrete.

Here are pics of the measurements, and couple of “relative” pics. Add 3 inches. Relative to oil bottle. Was going to put the car on the lift but today is not a good day. Hope this helps.
If any of you guys are running short of Pine pollen…We’ve plenty to spare, our “Yellow Snow” season is just getting started…natures powder coating overspray.

Almost identical, except for the control head setup. I changed my setup a bit from yours since I didn’t have the room for the controller on the side, I also turned my pads 180 degrees to put the movable “ramp” handles inboard ( because I didn’t want to trip on them ) I thought I was really planning ahead when I built my tin shed by raising
the roof by two feet from standard…of course hindsight is 20/20 and another foot and a half would have made a world of difference now.
