Default Dim Digital Speedometer

I've been browsing the forum for weeks trying to find a solution, but haven't found many answers. The digital speedometer on my 1996 is very dim, but still readable as long as it's not dark out. The numbers and letters are plenty clear. I've tried the flashlight + light sensor test, and it seems that the sensor does work, but the max brightness is extremely low. Everything else in the dash cluster is plenty bright when the dimmer is maxed out. Hoping for some suggestions before I take apart everything with no luck. Thanks!

If it's only the speedometer you've probably got some bulbs out.

X2 on Batee. Lots of good info on his site.
