Default Simple Brake Question

Hello all,
I got a somewhat silly and somewhat simple brake job question. I have done several brake jobs in my life, but this is my first brake job on a 1995 corvette convertible base. I purchased POWER STOP K1528 Z23 Evolution Sport Brake Upgrade Kit for my front and rear brakes. I have taken the first rear brake assembly apart and have cleaned it. I opened the rear brake pad box and found two "n' shaped washers/shims in the box (see below picture). I don't see these anywhere on my system. The new brake pads come with shims on them already. Are these something that are required with these brake kits or are these just in the box for other models that use them? Or am I missing something? Any help/experience would be appreciated.
Dave

I just replaced the front rotors on my wife’s Honda Pilot with the Powerstop units, they also came with some pieces I could not match to her vehicle. Other than that they went on without a problem and are working well.
