Venders
Why can't they be required to list in the parts section? Wilcox used to be bad. Now it's southerncarparts. 6 adds on the front page alone for their over priced corvette taxed parts. Other C4 threads the same.
Can you imagine if all the venders did this?
As an aside, all of the craig's list ''for sale'' listings should be in the C4's for sale section WHERE PEOPLE WHO ARE ACTUALLY SHOPPING FOR A C4 WOULD LOGICALLY LOOK!

Tools come to mind. There is a guy here that posts the same FS tool ads all over the forum. Administrator lets it go. Probably same one that took my GPS ad down a few years ago. Said he didn't want the forum to be like craigslist.
When I look in the for sale forum, I'm not looking for a wrench set https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rench-set.html
I don’t complain about much but…I have to agree. I don’t really like seeing vendor parts, which seems to be every few items, in the parts-for-sale section.
I recognize a few members that usually post links to craigslist ads. Since I'm not buying another C4, I don't bother opening them. I do find the vendors that regularly post for sale ads in the General Discussion and Tech sections annoying. After all, they do have their own section. I don't have a problem with a vendor like Dewitts posting a special short term sale. I hope the moderators will address our concerns.
Exactly... legitimate short term sales, Black Friday, President's Day, etc, those are fine times for the supporting vendors to post in the tech, general, and for sale sections
The issue is when they spam ads on a near DAILY basis in ANY section other than the vendor section. It dilutes the message board and reduces the chance that members are actually able to get assistance or help other corvette enthusiasts with their challenges. We have more recently started to fast approach the point were spam vendor advertisement posts outweigh member posts and discussion. The mods of this website should be WELL aware that once that tipping point is crossed, legitimate member traffic will drop precipitously once people realize that they can't actually get or give help here. And once member traffic drops, the vendors won't want to pay for their supporting status any longer anyway. So do you want to make a quick buck now or maintain steady income later...
Honesty, I've never found a better board for Corvette related discussion. I've learned quite a bit on here, too. All in all I like this board.
Of course, I've never really spent any time looking around for other boards either. The few others I've seen are just kind of bleh. And dead as a door nail.
I have no issues with things as they are either! I can see where maybe if someone posts to one of those threads it can then become a damn nuisance.
If perhaps there was just a 'Vendor' tag inserted in the original posting somehow that ID'd the 'thread' as just that it would be good! There are vendors that actually 'sponsor' sections in various platforms and get credit for that. Maybe they don't need to or be required to 'sponsor' but it would be good for the 'USER' to maybe be forewarned.
Vendor or vender I guess comes down to just a preference!!!! Vender = peddler/hawker Vendor = legitimate business reselling.
WVZR-1, Thanks for posting the link. Since I normally go to just the C4 forums, I never noticed that many of the sections in the C3 and C5 thru C8 forums are sponsored, but none in the C4 forum! I guess we C4 owners aren't important.

That attitude is pervasive.
Exactly why after a few visits to the local Corvette “clubs”…. I stay to myself. My old lady put it plain after the last attempt, “ They sure spend a lot of time pissing on each others leg”….”It’s High School bullshit”.
I'm pretty laid back and don't mind the vendor ads for the most part. Sometimes they remind me of something that I'd like to order for my car and I start shopping around. I suppose if the forum was flooded with the ads, I would be fairly annoyed. But as it is I'm fine with it peraonally.

Damn, I love that girl !

Your wife said it very well. -Thats the main reason I don't mess with Corvette clubs.
I agree. Also agree that the vendors should post prices in ads.
Users are blasted / threatened by post “removal” if we don’t list prices. If the official rules demand prices from the rest of us, why are the vendors not held to the same standard?
