I have tried to replace my oil temperature sensor. All the after market new parts I keep getting don’t work. The resistance on them is different. They all register temperature at 300+ degrees, while old one doesn’t work. Any suggestions on where I could find a quality replacement. I even bought one from Zip and it didn’t work properly. Insights appreciated.

I tried to get a new Delco unit from the usual auto parts stores. No luck, just the coolant temp sensors. Best bet is to search for an NOS Delco on eBay. I got one that looks good from NAPA. It’s their echlin brand sensor which have worked good for me in the past with other sensors. I have yet to install it so I can’t report on it right now unfortunately.

. Great advice, if I cannot locate a GM or AC Delco part, I always go with NAPA. No AutoZone, Pep boys, Kragen, O'Reilly, Advance or Car Quest...all junk. NAPA Standard Products should be your choice in a Corvette in my opinion. It was also the go to for all Chrysler and Dodge back in the good ole days too.
If you were interested in 'only' temperature why couldn't you use a single spade/button or whatever and not worry about the engine oil life that I believe the other 2 pins are for? If you're buying a 3 terminal from a 'local' supplier make it understood that you expect exchanges until you get one that seems to register correct/close enough gauge display. Be prepared to establish that it's actually the sender that's responsible for the incorrect/errant display?
From what I’ve understood about these 3 wire OTS, is that one wire is for the analog gauge, one for the digital read out, and it is common for one part of the sensor to go bad so you’ll either get no reading for the analog or the digital as part of the digital readout system. I have not owned my car long enough to realize that we even had an oil life monitoring system. LOL I learn something new every day on this forum I swear.
And yes I swear by the NAPA sensors. I’ve never had an issue with any sensor for any vehicle from my Dodge/Cummins truck, my wife’s MDX, and any other daily driven vehicle I’ve owned. I had 40,000 plus miles on the crank and cam sensors on the Cummins with NAPA sensors and they were still going when I sold it and let someone else pay $240 to fill it up with diesel.

The issue isn't going to be NAPA but with likely the manufacturers of the part for various 'resellers' NAPA included. All resellers are likely buying from the same manufacturer. Did the actual manufacturer have a quality control issue and there maybe ain't good product out there? They sold all they had and just quit! The sender was also used for all of the USPS LLV that GM did also.

I agree that’s entirely possible. Let’s hope that’s not the case and the OP just got some duds from the other ones. Unfortunately it’s probably going to be months before I have time to do any of the work I am about to do on this car and get around to installing the new NAPA part as part of the whole thing. I just have too much going on right now. Hoping some others can chime in on what brands have worked for them or if anyone has tried the NAPA part. This stupid sensor/sender is a common issue so someone out there must have done this with success.
