35th anniversary model
I've been looking at buying a C4 and really like the looks of the 35th anniversary model. Was 1988 a good year for C4's or should I look at a different model year? Thanks.
The newer, the better. However there were a few upgrades in '88. 17'' wheels, brakes, "D" port aluminum heads. I'm sure I'm missing a few, others will chime.
Unless you are set on owning a white 35th Anniversary model, you should always try to buy the newest and best quality C4 for the money you wihs to spend. Improvements and new features came along every model year.
You sould at least consider a 92 or later with the LT1 motor. More horsepower and torque, the Bosch ASR (accelaration slip regulation), redesigned digital/analog dash, and rounded front and rear bumper covers. There are some very good buys for the later LT1 cars in the $10K to $16K range.
Check out the C4's For Sale forum or go to http://www.autotrader.com and select Chevrolet, enter your ZIP code and in the next page, select Corvette and the years and dollar range and the mileage radius fromyour ZIP to see what turns up. Right now the C4 market is a buyer's market and there are good cars out there. Just take your time and look for the best one! :auto:

35th's are  No doubt If U can afford a newer Vette get it (more HP and Upgrades) I myself could have gotten a new Vette when I brought mine, but it was a promise that I made 2 myself back in 88 when I saw the 35th that I couldn't break :D I Love this :auto:

The 1988 35th's are among the rarest of C4's and the only true Anniversary Edition. The '78's,'93's and '03's all have the Anniversary badging, the '88's don't except for the 2050 35th's.
Parts are hard to come by when it comes to restoring one, so find one that's in as great condition as can be.
They are very nice cars and hopefully someday they'll be worth a lot more than what you paid for it.
Current pricing that I've seen recently is a high of $19,000 for a mint condition, to below $10k for a daily driver condition.

35th is a great choice. it will hold its value better than coupes several years newer. it is a fairly rare car. parts can be bought at most of the parts houses like mid america and eckler. parts cost a little more and are a little harder to find but you can get them. even though some of the newer c4's have a higher horse power rating like the lt-1 they are not that much faster. the 35th is a great car. i personaly would rather have a 35th than a coupe from 89 to 95.
