i just replaced distributor with ome style distributor. After I started engine I am getting noise inside cap. It sounds as though the rotor is too high and hitting the inside of distributor cap as it turns. I have checked and the rotor shaft seems to be inserted fully and the rotor cap is screwed all the way down. Am I missing something?
Yes I did. Don’t see anything that would be causing problem. It is a used replacement that was given to me, so I’m m going to pull it, shim my original one into specs, drop it in and see what happens
don’t know if the cap or the rotor was problem, but as the rotor went around it was scraping the plastic from areas inside the cap that had been removed after original injection process. Don’t know what this process is called. To be safe, I replaced both, no more problems. Terrible quality control on one of the them
