Dash segment out
Just replaced the bulbs and the photocell. Now I have good lighting, but now have a couple segments out of the speedo zero. Taking it apart tomorrow hoping to find some dirt or debris
I left behind. Anyone have any success of this repair. Not interested in sending it for repair at this time.

Had to replace the speedometer LCD as it was defective.
Works great now, but can hardly see it with sunglasses on. The other 2 slightly faded displays are fine with glasses on. Any ideas?

It is easy to get the photocell on the wrong side of the board, AMHIK. Take a pic of the photodiode opening, if you see the back and fourth line of the diode face your OK, if you see 2 small solder joints it is backwards.

There's what looks like a rubber strip between the glass and the circuit board. If you clean the hell out of that strip and the glass and the board, that should take care of the problem. I've used a pencil eraser on the board, and electronic cleaner on everything. Wipe it with a cloth to get all the grease and dirt off it. Make sure it's located properly on the board and glass, and make sure that when you assemble it, it's good and tight.
