i done so much research, that I have confused myself even more
is my transmission computer controlled?
I want to have my transmission lock up in 3 and 4th gear automatically. I think if I use an electrical switch, don’t I have to manually turn it off when I slow down or stop. I do not want to do that
Are you asking about the torque converter or the transmission? The ECM controls the torque converter and locks it around 40MPH. The trans is not controlled by the ECM. There is a good description here: https://mechanicbase.com/transmissio...-transmission/
Is there any switches on the brake pedal that has anything to do with TCC lock up or release? If so, I don’t understand what locks and unlocks TCC Does the ECU work in conjunction with a vacuum release switch on the brake pedal?
Thank you very much for the great information. I just took car for a spin. This time I hooked up MT-2500 snap on scanner. The indicator light that shows TCC lock up did not light. It just had the code P1 in the digital read out for TCC I’m not sure what that means, but iam researching it. Never used it before today.
quick question. When I am doing about 60 and let off gas pedal completely, should the car feel like it is coasting or feel like it is starting to slow down such as a type of engine breaking?
