After a long wait AFS finally has the silver A-mold replicas in stock in grandsport ofsets. :D I called tire rack to order pilot sports to be drop shiped to AFS for mounting and balancing (AFS is not even charging me for this service) and found that the fronts are not in stock  . The story does however have a happy ending as the tires are expected in on monday and are expected to be shiped to AFS on tuesday. So, after a long wait I am finally getting rid of the GS-Cs :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
I never liked goodyear tires in general, they seem to have less grip than many of their competitors. The GSCs are actually disigned to be a rain tire and actually had worse dry traction than the gatorbacks that they replaced. To add to the fact that they do not have the best dry traction to start with my rear tires are OLD. I am not sure how old, but I do know that the previous owner babied the car (If you met him you would understand) so they must be at least 4 to 5 years old (possibly orig to car). They are almost bald and have tiny cracks in the tread near the sidewalls. When a tire has too many heat cycles in it performance significanlty drops. When autocrossing I can not give full throtle on most of the course without kicking out the rear despite a stock drivetrain. I have never driven a high performance michilin tire that has not impressed me, XGT Zs, to the MXX3s delivered unbelievable performance. I just hope that the Pilot sports are as good as their predicessors.
I had the original GS C's and they performed flawlessly for the duration but as they got older... I didn't really notice. I did notice however, that it was one hell of a lot easier to burn out on a number of occasions. When I replaced the GS C's.. with BFG KD's I couldn't believe the difference. My times improved dramatically. I can't say that this wouldn't have happened with 'NEW' GS-C's but right now... I'm sold on BFG KD's!
I'm not a fan of the GS-C tires at all but don't rule Goodyear out because of the GSC. That is a tire that has 10-year-old technology. Look at the newer tires like the F1 series. I'm real happy with the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS. It is smooth running tire with very little noise. :yesnod:
I've hear they are noisy? I just slapped a nice set of used GSC's on my car for street use, I haven't had a chance to drive it with em' yet though.

Worst tire I've ever owned. I had them new so noone give me that crap about only having an old dried up tire for comparisions. They had the worst traction, dry or wet, poor ride, and were loud. You'd do better with cheap futuras from pep boys. Get real tires already. You won't believe the difference from the GSC. First, you'll swear you lost power because you don't break loose everytime you lightly touch the accelerator. Second, you'll scare yourself in the turns. Third, you'll feel comfortable going over 60 mph in the rain. Fourth, you'll be able to talk to someone without having to shout. Shall I go on?
Did you recieve your new wheels yet?????
Are you happy with the quality?????
tony
I did not recieve the wheels yet. The problem is Tire Rack not AFS. Tire rack shipped the tires out on thursday which means they should get out to AFS monday or tuesday. Then it will depend on how long it takes AFS to mount them and ship them.
AFS is great to work with. After they had told be they were out of the black spoke 11" wheels when they were actually out of the chrome, they upgraded my delivery to 2-3 day express. So, I have them to install on the car today rather than next weekend! Nice wheels also. :auto:
