I am looking at a couple of upcoming car shows and want to be able to get all of the black under the hood looking "polished" or a deeper black and trim looking car show ready. What do you recommend to get that look?
Mother's VLR is readily available and it is a cleaner which leaves a great finish behind. Alternatively, Mother's 'Back to Black' Spray also works wonders though it doesn't have a cleaner in it.

Maybe post a picture of your engine compartment to see what you're working with?
Here is what I currently am working with. I am also looking for any suggestions on items to "dress" up the engine area and if you have any pictures of anything you have done please share.
Inside of hood and black plastics, acrylic products leave a nice finish. Use acrylic "car wax", which of course isn't wax. Meguiar's Ultimate has been widely available.

Your car is very clean by most standards. I’d use any available plastic/trim detailer, such as the ones suggested above, and call it a day. You just need a need a little sheen to deepen the black trim. I have a feeling you’re going to do really well at shows.
At this point I use Adams in and out spray ,why it will make everything pop and (not like some) can wipe if , does not last forever but that's really a good thing ..
since you already did the red letters on fuel rail covers I suggest painting the ASR lettering on the throttle control cover. I advise removing the cover and getting someplace comfortable so you can take you time and have a steady hand. It just adds a splash of color.
I have ordered some chrome dress up pieces for the engine area but am having a hard time finding the correct chrome radiator cap - any suggestions on where to look for it?
We have been working tirelessly and have finally come to a place we are really happy. We might add a few others pieces but for the most part are done. Had the fuel rails and manifold plenum cover put on today and man were those fuel rails worth the wait (almost 2 months)!
