I have a 95 coupe that has been getting very weird on operations. I have noticed lately that when I get into the car close the doors and put the key in the ignition the system locks the doors.
To get out I have to hit the button on the door to unlock all. Just this afternoon this all happened and then turned the PKE system off. I had to restart it so the doors would lock when walking away. I made the mistake one time and left the key in the ignition with the fob and when I closed the door it locked up. Had to wait for the wife to bring a spare key. Has anyone else been experiencing the same issue that I have?
I am wondering if the PKE system is wearing out and should just be turned off and use the key to lock and unlock the doors.
All advice appreciated.
Thanks

Also the key will go to sleep when it's not moved causing the PKE to lock the doors, just rock the car to shake the FOB awake and it will unlock.
But there have been a lot of threads over the years of PKE modules failing...mine actually did and I replaced with a used from ebay about 10 years ago. Then it start acting up again, so I just disabled it, simple enough to use a key to lock/unlock.

Yes I have a new battery, I have found that Interstate Battery fits the fob properly.
I will try shaking it to see what happens.
If it continues to mess up I will disable it.
Thanks

I had a 94' that started acting crazy...turned out to be the door-ajar switch. The switch wasnt actually bad, it was just sticking. I also adjusted the amount it gets depressed when closing the door. i'll link my video just in case this helps. good luck!

Yes the door ajar switch can get out adjustment.
I had to install a plastic jam piece and even shim it out a little. Thanks for the advice.

PKE is a PIA. On my '96 it started popping the rear hatch open at random while driving. Pulled the fuse, problem solved. Using the key mo' betta' anyway.

I just watched your video, Wow yours was really doing weird things. My interior lights just stayed on way to long. As I had already posted I did the exact same fix. Great Video by the way, I will have to watch more of them for tips.
