here's my complete series from interior removal to test-drive...total PITA but worth every ounce of the tears
The first link is the actual instructions you used to get with the Core shifter (I could be wrong but I don't think they supply the "HURST" instructions anymore, they provide the exact same instruction sheet but with the Core logo) Print 101220-Inst Billet/Plus (shifterdoc.com)
I'm the opposite, I took the ZF doc shifter out and installed a Hurst/Core shifter.
The B&M was the shortest of all the ZF shifters and as you said, it was notchy. The Hurst was a smidge longer but had smoother action. the ZF doc shifter feels good as did Kurt Whites modified shifter. But I hat the reverse lockout.
Reverse lock-out aside, how does the Hurst/Core compare to the ZF Doc? I'm trying to decide between the two right now.
I don't have an answer to your specific question, and I've been busy with a million other things since I originally posted this so I haven't done it yet, but I'm planning to install the hurst/core one, and send my zf shifter to Bill to shorten and send back to me (I want to keep the OEM one rather than purchase one he's already done). That way I'll have it if/when I want to go back to the OEM shifter, it'll just be shorter of course. I already have the hurst/core shifter and have it on my agenda to do sometime this year though....hopefully within the next 2 or 3 months.
