Ok, I have a 95 convertible, automatic, 3.07 rear gear, stock exhaust except for an X pipe installed in place of the resonator, and new Nitto Motivo tires. Driving on the highway 70 to 80 mph not a lot of tire noise, but anything above 80 and the noise is ridiculous. It's a very loud humming. I put the car into neutral to let the rpm's drop and it's not the exhaust droning. Anybody have experience with Nitto's and tire hum at highway speed? Any speed below 80 and they're pretty quiet tires.

The speed limit here is 70mph so i wouldnt know what happens over that speed with Motivos. I highly advise Motivos, they are made in usa and like you said they are quiet and grippy and not too soft , great wear and longevity all season radial tires. My only fear is they will stop making them just like everything else good. At the mileage i put on each year they will get too old before they wear out.

are you sure they are balanced properly? I had cars before with ring and pinion issues that would start humming at certain speed ranges. Have you checked your diff fluid?

Yes, the rear end was completely rebuilt last winter, and I recently checked the differential fluid a few weeks ago and it was at the proper level. Well I think I'll try Continentals when these tires wear out.

I'd get the balance and alignment checked. Nittos aren't the best tires in the world, but theyre not gonna have unbearable road noise and it be part of their normal.
I put conti's on my 86 4 months ago and absolutely love them. A bit more pricey than the Nitto's I had on before but well worth the money. Quiet and very stable on the road wet or dry.
I have the Continentals and like them. They do make much more noise on concrete than smooth asphalt. I plan to try the Michelin Pilot Sport all season 4 next time. Same tire as the C8. Dan

I went with Pilot Sport All-Seasons. I'll probably drive it a few times in the winter providing there isn't snow on the ground. The only thing I was worried about was sound and longevity when I bought them. Highest reviews and they are good so far (<800 miles). I went staggered, 255 up front and 275 in the rear. A bit easier to turn at low speeds and better in the rain.

I put these tires on two weeks ago. Staggered setup and they have been great. Very quiet which was my main concern.
I had Continentals installed last fall and compared to the Nitto 555 its night and day. Seriously , quieter and the handling is soooooo much better. On more than one occasion when making an emergency maneuver (hard steering and braking) the rear Nittos would swing out and oversteer was horrendous. You will appreciate the difference right away.
Thanks for the advice, when these Nitto tires wear out I'll try the Continentals. And until then keep it under 80 which on the expressways around here is impossible.
I just figured Chevy would chose a quiet tire for the C8. Dan
A quiet ride and performance often do not go together. Pulling a G around a corner and you'll need to sacrifice something. But for me, I put them on my C4. Very good experience so far. Not coming from much since the previous tires were Uniroyal Tiger Paw that were 9 years old. It was due for a change.
just got home from my 2600 mile trip and the conti. were just what i was looking for. it was so quit my wife and i could hold a conversation and i am half deaf. felt good in the rain and held tight on the off ramps. Glad i changed from eagles.

obviously not the same as the motivos, but I have no road noise. My friend has Motivos on his car. Sent the link to your thread.
