So I've got an upgraded scissor regulator I'm planning to install in the passenger side door of my 86. I've been relying on instructions from a corvette magazine article but also found this manual guide. This issue is, the measurements for mounting the new regulator are slightly different between the article and the manual. Anyone have a suggestion before I measure and drill?
Also, I don't have a "rubber down stop" mentioned in the manual for mounting in the old hole. Any DIY suggestions on that, as I've read there isn't aftermarket support for those specific mounts.
Where did you order your window regulator from? I ordered one from Zip Corvette. It included the rubber stopper (I think you could carve one out of a rubber block. Also, the one from Zip, the instructions say to reverse the polarity on the electrical connector that will attach to the regulator. I plugged my in and tested it. No need to reverse anything. Also, use a sharpie and outline the flange on the all the bolts and nuts that are in an oval opening. I just finished this job this week.
