Hey, wondering what cell phone holders you may have in your C4. I have a Proclip holder in my C6 GS and love it (see pic below). Unfortunately, Proclip doesn’t make one for C4, they only go back to 1997 and my C4 is a 1996; also, based on their info, looks like their universal mounts/holders wouldn’t fit either. Appreciate any info you have, or pics of your setup too. Thanks in advance.
Interior shot of my 96, have a Bluetooth FM to connect my phone….long term plan is to install a Kenwood like I did in my C6 GS but that’ll be a few months.
Proclip setup in my C6 GS. Has a magnet mount and holds the phone nice and snug and I just grab it when I get outta the car. Would like a similar setup in my C4.

I have the WeatherTech "CupFone" holder. It worked well in my Ram p/u, but it works poorly in my '96 C4. The base is a tad too "fat" to fit well in the cup holder (exacerbated by how shallow the C4 cup holders are). You can gently wedge it down into the cup holder but it still won't nest well, and is so tall as to be top heavy and will fall out on any kind of aggressive driving. Plus, it's so bulky it interferes with shifting (my car's an automatic; I imagine it'd be even worse in this regard with a manual trans).
I like WeatherTech's products, but their phone holder is not a viable choice for a C4 Corvette, IMO.
Thinking out loud here, but maybe get one of those add on cup holders that hook on the right side of the console, and then use the Weathertech holder, or similar.
Thanks everyone for the info. Part of the issue with using the cupholder (regardless of the product) is that when I shift into reverse, I always have to move whatever is in the cupholders because the shifter hits whatever is in it. I had actually considered, and will likely have to just do it, is getting one of those add on cupholders that WhiteC1 suggested that sit to the right of the existing cupholders. It would serve two purposes....hold my phone and hold my drink and wouldn't have to move either when I shift her into reverse. I'm not a huge fan of how those add on cupholders look though.....
Thanks Talfryyn, I don't have or know of anyone with a 3D printer (although someone on the forum might be willing to help, I've purchased a product for my C6 GS from a fellow forum member who 3D printed it), but I will check it out on Thingiverse. Its actually pretty cool. I'd have made the base a little taller on it so the top portion would not be cut/truncated, but still that's a pretty good option compared to what's out there.

"Travel Buddy" seems to be the go-to on that style of cup holder:
I like the concept, and think it'd do a great job as a cup/cell phone holder (while keeping the contents well clear of the gear shifter), but I have two problems with it:
# 1 - Heinously expensive, IMO ($75 and up when I looked just now). $25? Sure. $35? Maybe. $75? For that? Nope.
# 2 - I have concern that over time it might "imprint" an image of itself on the carpeting, both from direct contact, and from the surrounding carpeting fading ever so slightly over time relative to the carpeting covered up by the Travel Buddy.
I'd be interested to hear from folks using a Travel Buddy if #2 is actually a valid concern.
It does physically fit, fairly nicely actually, into the cup holders in my C4, with a teeny bit of room to spare circumference-wise, and then tightens down pretty solid (better with the rubber inserts in the holders, as opposed to removed), but fouls just a bit up high on both sides - on the left, against the edge of the cup holder opening, and on the right, with the edge of the opened cup holder lid, putting considerable sideways stress on the lid and wedging it tightly against the right side of the cup holder opening:
The gooseneck on the holder allows a wide range of adjustment for your phone, and provides plenty of room for your hand on the gear shifter.
I'm heading out to the garage now to see about removing some material from a couple of strategic places - for a mere $15 investment, I'm OK with going a little medieval on it...

WeatherTech "CupFone"
I am using a cup Fone in my 95 and love it.
I used some black silicone tape to adjust the tightness and it worked really well.

Here's my WT CupFone in my '96:
I like your idea of shimming the actual cup portion with silicone tape (for this pic I removed the next-larger-size cup, which is how I had it configured before), but I still don't like having to reach past it to operate the shifter:
Yes I did cut the lid. The cup holder was useless to me, So used some black abs plastic to level all out and then glued the original lid on. Where the Velcro is I have a custom mount remote control for the radio. I can take a picture of all if you wish.
I personally believe it is a much cleaner look.
Thanks

Suction cup to the windshield. Didnt work too well with my factory ZR1 windshield with the film on the inside but works great now that I have a stock windshield (since my original was delaminating)

I am also using the Weathertech Cup Phone but use it with the single Travel Buddy for my 92. Fits very secure and out of the way.
This actually fits into the cup holder with no modifications and is pretty solid. However, it’s a bit tricky lining it up just right so it doesn’t interfere with the shifter.
Well, I finally gave in, paid the overpriced price tag, and got the travel buddy. I like it, it gets the job done but I really prefer a setup like I have in my C6 GS. My bride of 28 years is easy going and it doesn’t bother her when she rides in the C4, but it does take up some passenger space. It’s a little too glossy too….thot about wrapping it in leather or something to tone it down a bit so it more like the color of the dash and console. But, it gets the job done well, it holds my sunglasses case in one (prescription glasses and sunglasses), my drink in the other, and I put my phone in one of the oem slots. It’s nice to not have to hold my coffee each morning when I put her in reverse and back outta the garage.
