Hello just acquired a 1994 C4 convertible and the sun visors and really bad, seems to be very common on those cars, I would like to know what's the best option to replace them and where to get it from? thanks
All the places are getting them from the same source.Find whomever has the best deal with shipping and order from there. Most places will run a coupon for the holidays. Wait till thanksgiving and see. You will probably find some other items you need to order in the mean time.
A yard of vinyl will run $6.49, a spool of thick quality thread $2 Throw in a DVD of a nastalgic movie you can listen to and watch in the background and you'll have 2 recovered sun visors by the credits
Will last much longer than that crappy headliner material they put over cardboard and market as OEM for $300
I redid mine with 1/8" wood, could of used an old ceiling fan blade but went with new wood. Stapled the old hinges to the wood, used a coping saw for the opening for the vanity mirror insert. Wrapped the wood with a layer of pillow stuffing then vinyl then stitched it up. If you have a leather awl for stitching up leather work from harbor freight for like $3 that works very well, otherwise a decent needle and thimble is ok too

I would imagine vendors may get them from the same place but corvette central has a couple versions, one being a seemingly good reproduction. They also sell the various airbag warning stickers for them if you really must have that level of originality with your sun visor. Mine are literally flopping on the outer portion. I can’t put them down because the outer portion just flops down in my line of sight. It’s annoying. It’s a shame because they are otherwise perfect. The inside material obviously just broke in that area.
Finally had to put the roof back on yesterday after purchasing my '84 in July. Stole this idea from an older thread. Ugly but cheap. Now I get to enjoy the freshly reattached headliner. Drivers side has a newer visor with no "ear" at all.
Hi same condition on my 95, broken ends it's been a while looking on e bay found inexpensive slip on covers.
Black leather red contrast stich match my interior. Something easy for a change.
Do remember they are made in Mexico.
