Hello all i finally got some money together to replace my blown up LT-1.
I came here to weigh my options with help of you professionals here are my options all work will be done by myself please keep in mind
1 - this engine https://blueprintengines.com/collect...ads-roller-cam
2 - this engine https://blueprintengines.com/collect...ock-bp38318ct1
3 - $1500 junkyard engine 80k miles i cant hear run at all already out of car with a shady 20 day warranty 4hr round trip
4 - $6500 stock jasper reman engine
with option one or two will i need to make modifications or is this still a weekend job swapping parts from blown engine to the other?
Note - I did not mention LS swapping it because i do not have the funds or the time to do it and want to be as reliable as i can.
I don’t know what your budget is but for $6500 for a jasper reman, I’d be on the horn with Golen engines to see what they offer for the same or a little more. I think you can get way more for your money. Their builds and machining are top notch. I’d stick with the LT platform if you want simplicity with no fabrication, specialty parts, added expense, and figuring things out. They have plenty of potential, especially for a 3,200 lb car. The junkyard pull would be a no for me unless they can turn it over and give you compression numbers for each cylinder. Even then, too many variables.
check these out. Have your manifold ported to match, injectors, new sensors all around, drop it in, have it tuned, and drive. Plug and play. I would not go gen 1 SBC long block with a carburetor.
