Clutch fluid filthy
Noticed yesterday as I got in my 94 the clutch felt spongy and it was hard to get it out if 1st. Finally got it out and noticed that clutch engaged about 1/3 of the way from bottom which usually is about 2/3 of the way.
Cap was a PITA to remove but got it off with one channel lock holder the plastic white reservoir and the other twisting the cap off.
FYI remove the email base completely for better access.
Fluid was black and filthy. Cleaned it out
Added new DOT 3 fluid and replaced. Pumped clutch pedal about 10 times in each gear and added more after.
Felt great and clutch engaged at about 2/3 if the way from bottom.
Took it for a spin and drives great.

Can you flush the whole system out? That looks 20+ years old. Dan

When you pump the clutch pedal, do you get bubbles in the clutch master?

OP: When you took off the cap was there a black rubber bladder under it?
I'm interested as I've heard pro and con that it came from the factory with one in place.

Took it for a 12 mile drive. Damn oil pan leak crept up so that is at the top of the list during the holidays.
Here is the rubber bladder. Fluid is still clear and shifting was spot on.
