I'd like to save the carpet in my 86 as it's look to be in ok shape. Car has 77k miles on it and carpet looks great for its age. The bad...mouse pee galore. I'm pulling the entire interior and cleaning. What is the best way to get the mouse pee out of the carpet without destroying or fading the carpet? I have a carpet spot cleaner but not sure what soap solution to use in it.
Try a pet store, they carry all kinds of shampoo for the rugs, since puppy's not trained loves to leave there marks on the carpet and gets the smell out.
IME the price of a new carpet kit is well worth the money. You want a mass- backed kit.
C4s suffer from aged interiors. It is a bit of elbow grease but nothing too challenging, and fresh carpet totally transforms a car IMO. Good opportunity to tighten down (but not too tight!) All the interior plastic trim as well.
I am voting new stuff. Most of the auto carpeting I’ve seen isn’t worth the work to clean. Just saying. And maybe you can get some sound deadener under it.
