Do you have a factory manual? If you don't even know where the fill tube is located you might be better off stopping at a trans shop to find the leak and check the level. To answer your question the fill tube and dipstick is under the hood at the rear of the engine. You can't miss it. Google how to check the level. Dan

Sounds like your under the assumption he has an auto transmission... He still hasn't said which he has
If it's a manual with the 4+3 he could have manual transmission oil or an ATF leak from the 4+3, he didn't say which color it was.
In which case there's no way he's checking the fluid levels or adding any from popping the hood, that requires getting under the car
