Default Replacement bumper

Hey guys picked this bumper up since mine has a sort that is swollen and probably not fixable. I don’t know anything about bodywork but hoping will be a good fixable sort for when I paint my c4 in the somewhat near future.

It looks useable and should be urethane. When you get your car done, if any body work needs to be done to the main body, make sure the shop understands that the main body panels, minus the rockers and front and rear bumper covers are SMC, or sheet molded compound. It’s a pre made sheet of fiberglass compound that is pressed in a mold to make the parts. It’s pretty much guaranteed that the shop knows this and knows to use SMC compatible products as most fiberglass cars are made from this process now. They should be able to take that bumper cover down and fill it as needed. I would let them install and fit the new bumper on. It can be a pain to get a nice fit with urethane so you have nice alignment all around. They can reshape things a bit if needed so the end result is as good or better than factory. If you do it yourself, let that black cover sit in the sun for a few hours so it’s nice and pliable. They can do what they need to do later if it needs anything. With that said, the front covers tend to get valleys (low spots). If it’s visible, you can have them address it prior to painting. It can be fixed by heating up and pushing the low spots back up and filling the remainder. If you’re going through the trouble and expense of painting your car, it might as well be perfect.
