My interior dome lights used to work when I turned them on, sitting in the car, doors closed, by turning the dash mounted slide switch.
When I open the door, the interior lights come on. When I open the rear hatch, the rear hatch lights come on.
I used to turn the interior dome lights on when I use the dash mounted slide while in the car, doors closed, interior lights off.
Now, when I am in the car, dome lights off, doors closed, and I turn the interior dome lights on by using the dash mounted slide, the interior dome lights do not come on.
Can someone whom had this issue or resolved it, please share the fix? Thanks
Could be dirty contacts on the interior switch since lights still come on when you open door and hatch.
Thanks for your response.
Now, I took the module out, but it is sealed, meaning that it does not appear to be an assembly, one can take it apart. Can the headlight module be taken apart?
I am willing to take it apart, but I don't want to break it.

I have that same exact problem with my '90.
And it's one of those issues that return zero search results on here, unfortunately.
I've searched to see and yours is the first question I've seen on this specific problem.
Usually it's only threads asking about why the lights don't come on when the door is opened.
If you have a working switch assembly, let me buy it and perhaps, my problem is solved on this issue. Just tell me what you want - thanks
I'm pretty sure the one I have is no good, man. Which is why I replaced it in the first place. I'm basically saving it in case I need to rob from it. Especially the way the plastic gets brittle and cracks on these cars.

Understood, I will try to take it apart and get to the contacts to fix it.

You can probably find one on eBay.
But many eBay sellers seem to think they're selling gold these days for some reason and have started askng three times the price that some of this stuff is actually worth.
Of course, then again, eBay takes a lot more from their sales these days, too. So there's that, if you had ot look for some kind of justification.
