VATS no start
I have a 94 vette and it has not let me start the car for 2 days now. Security light on everytime I try to start it. It has a vats resistor put in by the previous owner and I checked the resistance. Its spot on for a #10 key. Removed it anyways and plugged the wire back into the ignition switch to see if the key pellet would get it to start, also no. I cannot for the life of me figure out whats going on. If anybody knows what to do it would be much appreciated.

If you have ID & registration in your name take the VIN to a dealer, and ask that they do what's called a 'KEY CALL' - Generally a dealer would charge for the service but some might accommodate you. They would get the original key codes and also the original VATS code. You accomplish a couple things, not often is the VATS resistance changed from OE build. If they get a 10, and you've confirmed your resistor is a 10 then maybe it's just a poor job. Not that it's particularly important but you could also confirm that the mechanical cuts are original or not. You're not obligated to buy keys, you're just looking for information.
