Drove the old lady to work today, parked her in the garage and noticed all the brake lights were on. I’m going to assume the brake light switch is on its way out. Did an internet search using the GM part number and can’t find it anywhere. Alternates seem to be discontinued also. Anyone know where to purchase these new? I’d hate to buy a used one.
I believe you check the switch that's there for proper adjustment before looking for or considering a replacement. There's a few readily available switches that can be used if you have a SLS issue creating a stoplight issue. Check adjustment of yours first. I believe I've some old notes on SLS that can be used. NAPA or other locals should have.
This thread for a cruise control issue has a few good images of the '93+ SLS and you can see what needs to be adjusted likely to correct your issue. Maybe NOT but it costs nothing to check.
Not sure if it makes a difference but I have a manual trans. I will check the operation of the switch and see if it needs adjustment. If it is the switch itself, what options do I have if it’s been discontinued?

This GM switch that does nearly all mid 90's 10170430 I believe should work. That number should interchange with nearly any auto-parts store local to you. I've suggested that number several times and I know of no issues. ACD would be D1541D and it's likely available even from Amazon if you're a Bezos guy.

You sir are a saint. I looked everywhere for an interchange number and couldn’t find squat.

So I attempted to adjust the switch and it was still sticking. Threw in a new one and can’t thank you enough for giving me the part number, worked like a charm. One thing I will say is that the Faceman isn’t getting any younger and the removal and install was quite entertaining.

It certainly ain't a task we like to do. Tight under there. Were you able to easily use the dual threaded adjuster from the OE 2 switches or did you need to address that in some fashion?

I removed the one for the cruise control, then unhooked the brake light switch and backed it out a few threads. After noticing the old one was still problematic, I installed the new and screwed it in until it had enough clearance when the brake pedal was down. Seems to be working just fine now.
I think I was more impressed with the cirque du soleil moves I pulled getting it accomplished lol.
