So yeah, I'm a noobie to the vette world with my 94 C4 so here come the silly questions. The OEM cup holders are absolutely useless, what is the go to for the morning coffee?
I found a cup holder that has what I will call a tab on the bottom and it slips between the passenger seat and the counsel.
I think I found it on Amazon.
With the vettes having so many great features and amenities that make them the ultimate American grand touring car, they sure did F up on the cup holders. They are really great for kids size water bottles and that’s about it. The only time I brought a travel mug in the car I had it between my legs. After 5 minutes I chugged the coffee and threw it in the hatch. About the only almost stock appearing, somewhat useful, and solid cup holders seem to be the ones that attach to the passenger side of the console. I’ve read some good reviews on them but I’m not sold. It’s not a big deal to me as mine is a short trip, fair weather cruiser. Mostly because I don’t have time for fun road trips and my weather stripping seals as good as any pasta strainer.
Closed water bottle sitting on the passenger seat. No milkshakes or coffee flying about my C4s. If I have a passenger, generally they're pretty understanding of handing me a water bottle from the passenger footwell area!
I only take water in my C4's. I'll tuck the bottle in between the passenger seat back and the storage bin at an angle. The bottle seems to sit there nicely. It would be nice to have coffee in the morning on the way to work but I'm afraid it would get spilled. I just don't want to add an aftermarket cup holder. I love the idea that IHBD had but I typically have one of my kids with with me so that wouldn't work in most situations.
I've had my 85 for about 18 years now. In ALL that time, I never needed to have something to drink in it while driving. Imagine that! Both hands on the wheel and I never even dehydrated! How is that possible?

Good for you!
Cup holder also doubles as my cigar ash can holder. It's multi purpose!
Does the Weathertech phone holder/cup holder have a velcro backing? How does it attach to the carpet?
The cup holder is a friction fit and the transmission tunnel contours helps to keep it in place. the phone holder nestles in the cup holder. It’s adjustable for different size drink holders so I move it from the vette to my truck for the winter. It’s expensive in my opinion but it works so well I bought it.
