Rear End Blues!
On my 96 CE 4spd with Dana 36, 3.07 gears, I get an on gas/off gas clunk from rear diff and the body seems to yaw to the left slightly under hard roll-on accelaration. Is this from a worn differential, worn u-joints, a combo of both or something else?? How long do u-joints last anyway Anyone know any good shops in central Jersey or S. New York? I'd like to step up to a

you don't list mileage.
the yaw to the left is normal. any chevy will do that - rear drive that is.
its caused by the engine torque in relation to the engine's rotation. neato, eh?
as for the clunk... I would check:
1) wheel bearings,
2) Ujoints,
3) differencial bushings.
Unless you have really beaten on the car, the diff itself should be ok.
if you decide to upgrade gears, consider going with a D44. The 3.45 gears are nice, and the diff is much much much stronger!!!
