I am considering using octane booster in my 95 as I am 25 miles from a station that has BP Ultimate. We have a local station that has 87 octane regular non ethanol and then add the booster. My car has the LT4 hot cam, High flow heads, larger throttle body and headers. Never had a problem with non ethanol Ultimate just not convenient to get it. Hoping that others have tried this so they can share their experience.
If I am going to be going by the BP station I have no problem stopping by and filling up.
Thanks

I tried octaine booster fron Autozone. It didn't change the way it ran and it put a rust colored coating on the sparkplugs. Never tried it again. Maybe different brands work better.

I was afraid of this after reading that there is an additive that will cause this. I will just go for a ride to top off lol.
Thanks

I run Klotz synthetic octane booster. I mix 1 gallon of 93 non ethanol with 1 oz of Klotz so that puts the octane # at 95 ish. 1 oz adds 2.5 #s. My engine loves it. 1 gallon has lasted me a season and a half. I dont have cats, but says it dosent bother them so i dont know.

Too raise the octane level from 87 to 93 I do not believe it would be cost effective for me to go this route. I do appreciate the information you provided.
