Will 245/50/16 work on my factory 1985 rims?!? Which are 255/50/16, I'm sure the fronts will be fine but I was wondering if you guys had any experience with this?!?

Look at some sites like TireRack.com. For each tire there is a tab for specs. On that page it lists the recommended rim widths.
For 245/50/16 tires it lists 7" to 8.5" for rim width. However, in '85 the base wheels were 8.5" but the Z51 had all four 9.5". So for the wider wheels, that tire is not recommended.
I know it has been done (mounting 245's on 9.5") and some say it is ok, but it is not a recommended situation.
