I wil assume you have a 6 speed.
Take a flat blade screwriver and pry up the shift pattern.
Take a pair f vice grips and clamp down on the metal T.
Pull up.
Unscrew ****.
Take a flat blade screwriver and pry up the shift pattern.

Unscrew ****.

If this is an automatic, pry out the shift button, get snap ring pliers and pull out the snap ring, then the **** wiggles right off.
