I've pretty much given up on the wave, if close enough and traveling slow, I wave. With tinted windows and folks keeping an eye on traffic, etc., the wave may not be noticed, and of course, some folks just don't care. Signs of the times.
Wow, over 20 responses to my 'rant'. I guess there are some strong feelings about the wave. Many good points made and I agree that times have had an effect on social interaction. Oh well I'm just glad to see so many posts by younger owners asking for advice and all us "older" guys and gals welcoming them with open arms. The future of honoring the past looks good!
As an aside on the way to pick up some take out tacos tonight a young man in a jacked up pickup truck asked me to flip my headlights. Made his day (and mine)!
In the 1k miles I have on my build ive gotten no waves. I dont care. But I dont think people even know what the hell my car is when they see it driving. Plus no badges on it till paint. I like it this way.
But IF I got one, of course ill wave back! Im not a douche
I crossed paths w a C6 and C5 yesterday. They both intialized a wave. The wave isnt dead but it surely has been stiffled by generatioms of folks who dont seem to be as social as they used to be.

good thing the year wasnt 2001-02
c5’s wouldnt wave back at c4’s
it took the c6 coming out for that to change
no snubbing today is as bad as the c5’ers in 2001-2003 timeframe
thankfully today’s c5 drivers wave !

As an aside, we noticed those Z06 motors have a rather distinctive "whine" when wound up.

there was a guy revving his stock C8 Z06 at cars & coffee this morning - to which my wife just looked at me & said, "haha... that's cute. why don't you go start yours & shut him up?"
Went to Lowes after visiting my buddy to check out his 69 camaro project. Saw a blue c4 Z06 as the owner was getting out. He waved at me and I parked a a few spots from him and hollered "what year is your Z06?" He stated "2003".
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
