Default Door sill protector install

I ordered sill protectors from Amazon. Less than impressive. Thin cheap plastic, but they should do the job. Before I start drilling anything, what’s the proper way to secure them? If my foot brushes against it, it flops right off. I’m thinking I need to drill a couple holes in each protector, and using shallow metal screws, just screw them in? There aren’t any pre drilled holes but that seems to be the only solution.

I used one short stainless steel oval head screw (#10) with a cup washer on each protector. One screw on each has done the job for the past 30+ years.

I have a pair of plastic sill protectors. I am going to use the self adhesive Velcro strips on them to hold onto the carpeted sills. Kevin
