Default VATs simple or complicated?

Just thinking aboutvthe VATs system in my 86. Is it just a "dumb" system looking for the correct key or does the VATs module have more complicated features such as a timer and reset? Does the VATs interface with anything besides the ignition circuit?

Www.tunedperformance.org can get a bypass chip made. Then jumper the starter enable relay.

You can get a bypass chip at Amazon, not too expensive. It's fairly easy to install. There is a discussion that I'm involved in regarding this. I put it into my 88 vert and have had 0 problems since.

If you look at the attached wiring diagram, you'll see the 86 has a black and yellow wire from the ignition relay to the VATs module. If you ground that wire, then you should see some action with your car.
