I have a 1987 corvette and am debating a rebuild vs replace on the rack and pinion for my C4,
Turn one is local to me and can do a rebuild with a new steel insert for 725… however a rebuild online from Detroit axle costs about 400$, any recommendations??
not sure if this helps or adds to confusion - https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...t=7388&jsn=469. i did this and had my local shop install - comes with a filter as well - if you can do the install save a few bucks - this has worked fine for me so far -
Spend the money on the turn one rack. I got a reman from Detroit and it had a huge dead spot, spooky to drive. Found a lightly used turn one rebuilt rack that has been flawless since install.
I got one from rock auto about a year ago. They didn't want my old one back so I saved it to get rebuilt incase the one I got gives me any problems. I suggest stay away from Detroit axel. Check out their reviews.
