Looking for informed and kowledgeable advice. We picked up this C4 partly to help someone out and the passenger side door outer panel AND shell is damaged on the lower rear corner. The damage on the outer panel looks repairable. Sorry about the flash light reflection on the panel photo. The damage on the shell is a pretty significant crack where the two edges of the crack are not lined up (about 1/16 offset to each other). That crack runs from the panel outer all the way to the door seal. Is this likely repairable or should I just pick up a door in better shape and swap the pieces over? I haven't had great luck finding an experienced person to do the repair. Not gonna flip the car - I really like it and other than this it is in excellent shape mechanically and cosmetically. It's a keeper.
Thanks
Replace the door - you haven't mentioned year but if it's '91 or newer get a '91+ door as the glass is different than '90 and earlier. It will be much easier aligning the glass using a used door vs transferring your glass and hardware to a used door of any other year. It would be great also to maybe consider paying premium for a door of the correct color.
Post back mentioning year and the color code from the SPID label. You don't have a location in your 'profile' so add that also.
** Is there any damage to the door opening of the body?
