I certainly didn’t mean to start this. I was just trying to help someone avoid the falling plate. It will fall off if you remove the screws at least on both of my 94 doors. Peace. Cheers. I’m a little unsure about this forum now.

relax! don't let this thread discourage you - crap like this doesn't happen too often. mostly venting, blowing off steam, and seeing who gets the last word. a week from now, all's forgotten, forgiven, and everyone's one big happy family.
edit/update -- i would like to apologize for my part in letting this thread go off the rails. it was not my intent and i should have known better. sometimes, schitt just happens. seems the older i get, the thinner my skin gets. at first signs, i should have walked away and took a deep cleansing breath. anyway, need a break from posting and/or the forum in general, so you folks have a good one....
